The Fighting Barramundi is one of Australia’s most iconic fish, known for its strength, beauty, and prized white flesh.
A delicacy in many cultures, it has long been sought after by Aboriginal hunters, who skillfully caught them in freshwater billabongs and saltwater rivers.
For generations, my family has carried on this traditional hunting practice.
My great-grandfather Malla, his son James, and his grandson Allan were master craftsmen and expert marksmen, creating handmade bamboo spears to hunt Barramundi and crabs.
When Malla was just a small boy, he witnessed these incredible skills firsthand—an art passed down through our family and forever embedded in our cultural traditions.”
